Project 6: Milestone 3

This homework is worth 140 points.

It should be done as a team.

P6 is due on Gradescope on Monday, November 30, 11:00am ET.

Learning Goals

  • Work together as a team, dividing up responsibility for user stories amongst the team members.
  • Meet with your partner organization to communicate progress through demos of your work and asking questions to ensure what you build is what they want.

Project type-specific Learning Goals:

  • Finish the redesign of your partner organization's products to improve their accessibility.
  • Create the final video and get feedback on the vision it proposes.
  • Finish implementing and debugging the application you are developing to ensure it works as expected.

Project Context

Your project is almost done!

We expect you to meet at least once with your instructors to share plans and once with your partner organization to share results of this milestone. One of your deliverables for this milestone are the notes from these meetings.

Another deliverable for this milestone is the set of notes you take during your team meetings.

Accessibility Evaluation Projects

If you are conducting an accessibility evaluation, your goal for this milestone is to finish implementing the changes to your organization's existing application or web site to improve its accessibility. We require you to record a demonstration of any user stories implemented for the redesign (this can be done by anyone on your team), upload it to YouTube (keep it unlisted) and turn in the URL to the video.

You must evaluate the accessibility of your work with at least two people who have your target disability. You may ask your partner organization for assistance in recruiting these people.

You must turn in all of the transcripts, notes, and analysis you create after evaluating the redesign of the application or web site with your participants.

Design Vision Projects

In this milestone, you will create and render the final version of your 3-minute envisioning video. Be sure the video has credits (these do not count towards the 3-minute time limit). Upload the video to YouTube (keep it unlisted). Add closed captioning.

Show the video to 5 people to obtain their feedback: 3 people who are not in this class and 2 people with the target disability who have never participated in your project. Take notes. If possible, record and transcribe each feedback session. If you have difficulty recruiting people with the target disability, ask your partner organization for help. If they are not helpful, please ask the instructors for help.

You will turn in all transcripts, notes, and analyses you create after evaluating the final video with your participants. In addition, you will turn the URL to your video.

Application Solution Projects

In this milestone, you will finish working on the user stories to implement your application. As before, you may change these user stories at any time, but we expect to see any and all changes documented in your project management system. In addition, all code must be checked into your GitHub repository. There must be work items that document your progress as well as designs on tools like Canva or Figma that reflect what your team is building.

By the end of this milestone, you will evaluate it with at least two people with the target disability. You may ask your partner organization for assistance in recruiting these people.

Your deliverables for this milestone are the transcripts, notes, and analyses of the evaluation. In addition, we require you to record a demonstration of any user stories implemented since the last milestone (this can be done by anyone on your team), upload it to YouTube (keep it unlisted) and turn in the URL to the video.
